Kylie and Billiana T - Parklands School MASSIVE Performance

During September, Rooms 1, 2 and 14 were involved in MASSIVE. It was awesome. It's kind of like Stage Challenge, but Motueka's version!

Check out our intro video (starring Kylie Mole and Billiana T) and also a video taken of the show by one of our parents.

A big thank you to everyone who helped out, or come along and supported our show!

PARKLANDS AMAZING BOOK WEEK BY SHANTI AND AMBER

Every year we have a book week, when the whole school focusses on books. When it comes around to book week we have really fun activities like stop drop and read. Also teacher's come in and read a book to a different class each day. We also get to dress up as  book characters from the theme which is Imagination this year. That happens on Friday (the last day of book week of course). After we have dressed up,  the book week culminated in a parade down the street, through the kindergarten and back to school. Now that it is finished the whole school can't wait till next year!

Why we have book week?

  1. It stimulates people to read.
  2. The parade advertises our school.
  3. Because it is fun.
Shanti dressed up as Nicky off the Thea Sister books and Amber dressed up as Fleur the dread pirate from the book Fleur the dread pirate!

Don't be fooled, Amber can't climb that well!
I'm the one with the cowboy hat (the cutest, YEE HAR!

TOTARANUI CAMP BY Dylan,Fergus

The reasons we go on camp are:

  1. to have fun
  2. to make new friends
  3. to build your confidence
  4. to try new things

Interesting and enjoyable activities are:
  1. Spotlight.. We had to go from the Homestead to the information centre. It is about hiding and skills.
  2. Eating food. It was good, but Smiddy burnt the custard and it had lumps all through it.
  3. The big walk. We went from Totaranui to Anapai bay to Mutton cove then last of all we went to Separation point
  4. Amazing race. At the start we did a quiz then run to the camp site then eat sardines and to the tap and do strength then ran to the beach to do swimming then did kayaking and last but not least ran to the finish line.
  5. Eating smores. They were delicious-- bottom layer a biscuit, middle layer a marshmallow,  top layer a biscuit.
  6. Eating sardines.

Thanks staff! Especially Smiddey and Miss Sefton for organising camp!

The BIG walk!
Caleb having fun.

This artistic masterpiece, created by Aaron Tamepo on iMovie, shows just what we get up to during our diary-writing sessions.  Follow the slideshow at the end of the dance.  Well done Aaron.
